Our lord and savior Jesus Christ took Shirley Ann Rathert Holley home on November 10, 2025 with her loving family beside her, at the age of 90.
Following a lengthy battle with Lewy body dementia and a short battle with cancer, Shirley was received by her heavenly father.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Charles (Chuck) Joseph Holley of Cedar Park, Texas; daughters Jamie Key Holly of Kyle, TX and Lori Jo Holley Gau (Gerald) of Cedar Park, TX; her 4 grandchildren David Micharl Rains of Winter Garden, FL, Bryon Arthur Way of Kyle, TX, Brandi Lynn Chizek of Melbourne, FL, and Daniel Charles Harper of Georgetown, TX; and 12 great grandchildren
She is also survived by brothers Delmar Lee Rathert (Sally) of Smiths Grove, KY and Daniel Joseph Rathert of Campbell Hill, IL; sisters Mary Rathert Bollinger of Cedar Park, TX, and Joni Rathert Tollett (Randy) of Round Rock, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Arthur and Verna Rathert.
She will also be missed by her adopted family at Cedar Pointe Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Cedar Park, Texas, where she and her husband lived for the last two years, and Compassus Hospice Care for taking such great care of her during her last weeks.
Shirle was born in Chester, IL in 1935. There is where she met the love of her life at the age of 10 when chuck, moved in next door. It was love at first sight! Their courtship lasted for 10 years and at the age of 20, they got married and made wonderful memories for the next 71 years.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She also was a businesswoman. She had her own bakery for 5 years while they lived in Shreveport, Louisiana. She taught arts and crafts, mainly painting classes, at Michaels for 10+ years. She loved working at the church, living and talking about her faith.
Shirley favorite time was spent with her family. She would take every opportunity to be with her grandchildren. She loved every holiday as it as a wonderful time to have family gatherings.
Shirley chose to be cremated upon her death, but a "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date with family and friends.
