Celebrating the Life of Teresa "Terri" Rene Mokry (Stroud) September 17, 1962 – October 24, 2025
If laughter really is the best medicine, Terri was everyone's favorite prescription for joy. Known affectionately as Buns or Strudel, she could light up a room faster than you could finish saying "Aaa Lot." Her quick wit, big heart, and knack for finding humor in just about anything made her one of a kind - the kind of person who made life a whole lot more fun.
Born in Lubbock, Texas, to Malcom and Sara Stroud, Terri grew up with her brothers Mike and Nick, where love, laughter, and good-natured teasing were part of everyday life. She graduated from Coronado High School and attended Texas Tech University. Terri began her career as an airline stewardess before dedicating 19 years to Leander ISD, where she shared her warmth, humor, and compassion with colleagues and students alike.
Terri married the love of her life, Rudolph "Scottie" Mokry, on July 30, 1983, in Lubbock, and together they built a beautiful life over 42 years of marriage - filled with family, faith, laughter, and just the right amount of adventure. Whether she was at the beach, glamping, bike riding, or doing whatever her G-Girls wanted (because let's be honest, they ran the show), Terri lived with an easy joy that drew people in.
A sports lover, an animal champion through Texas Humane Heroes, and a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Terri poured love into everything and everyone around her.
She is survived by:
Her loving husband Scottie,
Her son Luke Scott Mokry and wife Darion Mokry,
Her daughter Lora Marie Mokry,
and her cherished G-Girls Arian Renae, Anniston Rose, and Alizah Gene Mokry.
She is also survived by her brothers Mike Stroud and Nick Stroud and wife Lori, Uncle Ramond McDaniel, nieces Lauren Dunn and husband Cody, Kathryn Webber and husband Chad, along with many beloved cousins, extended family, friends, and her furry companions.
Terri was preceded in death by her parents Malcom and Sara Stroud; grandparents Charles and Lucille Young, Ray and Robbie McDaniel, and Devron Stroud; and many other treasured family members who no doubt welcomed her with love and laughter.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or Texas Humane Heroes in Leander, TX - two causes close to Terri's heart.
Thank you to all friends, family, and the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church community for your love, laughter, and support.
"She laughed often, loved deeply, and left the world brighter than she found it. Her laughter was contagious and touched everyone around her."
