Lincolnton - Mrs. Shirley Lineberger Hollifield, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025 at her residence.
Mrs. Hollifield was born on October 27, 1935 in Lincoln County, NC a daughter of the late Worth Lineberger and Jennie Yarbrough Lineberger. She retired from Cochrane Furniture as a data processor. Mrs. Hollifield was a lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church in Lincolnton. She started playing piano at the age of nine years old and played piano and organ for a combination of 75 years at her church. One of her favorite songs and one she will be remembered playing is "When they ring those golden bells." She was a former member of Lincoln Chapter #114 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Brent Heavner.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Wayne Hollifield of the home; her daughter Terri Heavner and husband Mike of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Brandon Heavner and wife Amy; Kayla Spencer and husband Tyler; four great grandchildren, Addilyn Heavner, Savannah Heavner, Grayson Spencer and Carson Spencer.
The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Wednesday, June18, 2025 at Salem Baptist Church in Lincolnton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Salem Baptist Church in Lincolnton with the Revs. Shea Houser and Ken Gibson officiating.
Burial will be at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church. 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or VIA Health Partners (Hospice of Lincoln County) 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
