Shirley Mae "Kitty" Keller, 92, of Newport, passed away on Friday, January 30,
2025 at Cold Spring Care Center. Kitty was a graduate of Newport High School,
Class of 1950 and a Korean War Navy Veteran. She was a retired underwriter for
Western Southern Life Insurance Company, and a member of the First Baptist
Church in Highland Heights. Being a Reds fan, she supported the team by being a
member of the Rosie Reds, attending many home and away games, along with
her best friend, Betty Webster. She and Betty were Newport City Ambassadors
for years, working many city events and festivals. The two of them were
inseparable and always together, whether it be traveling, shopping, playing cards,
bowling or trying out a new restaurant. Kitty was the daughter of the late Earl
and Hazel (Eifert) Leonard. She was preceded in death by her husband, John
Keller and brother, Earl "Buddy" Leonard. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki
(Steve) Osterhage; sister, Betty Scott; grandchildren, Steven (Becky) Osterhage,
Brian (Stephanie) Osterhage, and Michelle (Josh) Horn; great-grandchildren,
Maddie and Wyatt Osterhage, Oliver and Lydia Horn. Services convenience of the
family. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s
Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or First Baptist Church, 2315 Alexandria Pike, Highland
