Shirley McCart

Shirley McCart, a wonderful Wife, Mama, and Nannie, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 85, surrounded by loved ones.
Shirley was born to Dewey and Ruby Yancey on May 9, 1939.
Shirley loved her family unconditionally. She not only taught her family how to love, but most of all she taught them about the love of Jesus. Shirley never missed an opportunity to pray for her family and friends. She loved her church and attended faithfully as long as her health allowed.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Glenn McCart. Together they have three children, Rita Lee and her husband Doug, Rickey McCart and his wife Debbie, Dana Doster and her husband Terry; eight grandchildren, Marci and Mac Bradbury, Samantha and Brett Gilbert, Ashley and Stephen Small, Drew and Beth McCart, Chris and Haleigh Doster, Kevin and Hannah Lee, Devon and Rachel McCart, Dillon and Sarah McCart; 9 great grandchildren; Brothers, Bobby Yancey, Charles Yancey, and Jimmy Yancey; sister, Dianne Padgett who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ruby Yancey; brother, Dewey (Junior) Yancey; sisters, Irene Freeman and Reba Watson
The family's comfort is knowing that she is at perfect peace with her Lord and Savior.
We will miss her deeply, but know that her suffering on this earth is over.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Shirley will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Lenora Baptist Church, 4136 Lenora Church Rd, Snellville, GA 30039, with Pastor Terry Briscoe and Pastor Daniel Sharp officiating. The burial will follow at Lenora Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends the evening prior, Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, 3705 Highway 78 West, Snellville, GA 30039.
