Shirley Marie Moore, age 68, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH. Shirley was born February 16, 1956 in Columbus, OH to the late Freddie Grubb and Margie Osborne. Shirley was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. She worked hard all her life. Whether that means making a paycheck or taking care of her family she could always be counted on. She was the rare type of woman that would cook, clean, love her man, and enjoy every moment with her family. In other words, she was a simple woman. She was small, but her presence was huge. She was stern, but somehow sweet. If you knew her, you would not go without. She would fill your belly with good food and your ears with life lessons, and jokes. She will be greatly missed by many. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; and niece, Angel Marie. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Tom Moore; daughters, Peggy Sue and Melissa (Josh) Wheeler; grandsons, Michael, Matthew, and Benjamin; great grandchildren, Ava, Anabella, Xander, and Oakley; sister, Peggy Joyce; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; former son-in-law, Rev. Gilbert Marcum; many friends. Visitation for Shirley will be Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. SOUTH CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH with a service celebrating Shirley's life beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Gilbert Marcum will officiate.
