Shirley Ann (Rapp) Napoletano, 92, of Wyomissing, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Highlands at Wyomissing.
She was the widow of the late Natale Napoletano who passed away in 2020.
Born February 20, 1933, in Temple, PA, she was the daughter of the late Irwin Rapp and Emma (Wegman) Rapp-Schumacher.
Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and later went on to obtain her undergraduate degree in education and master's degree in reading education from Kutztown University.
She worked as a teacher in the Muhlenberg School District as a reading specialist for 27 years. After retiring from teaching Shirley still had a passion to help others and her community. She was a volunteer at the Muhlenberg Library for 17 years and a member of the Literacy Council of Reading/Berks from 1970 - 2000. Shirley was also a member of Berks Horticulture Club and was on the hospitality committee.
Surviving are two children, Lisa Napoletano of Phoenixville, PA, and Nathaniel Napoletano, husband of Jani (Ott) of Akron, OH.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Renton Napoletano, and Chloe Napoletano, wife of Ryan Murphy.
She leaves behind two great grandchildren, Logan Murphy and Owen Murphy.
There are two of her siblings surviving, Alice (Rapp) Seward, widow of Frank, and Curtis Rapp, widower of Loretta.
Shirley was predeceased by one sibling, Sylvia (Rapp) Heffner, wife of John.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Calvary Lutheran Church Laureldale, or the Muhlenberg Community Library. Please make donations in Shirley's name.
