Wow, my email reminds me this morning that our friend and coworker Shirley passed from this world 15 years ago. When Pam and I reminisce of my 35 MetLife years Shirley is always a living part of those recollections. Its said as long as those who still live remember, you live still. Of course we believe Shirley is going strong in the promised land and waiting her loved ones and friends as, one by one they arrive. Its particulalrly sobering to me, now that Ive recently turned 70, to note she was but 66 when she died. It is also a trip of memories reading the posts on the guest page from 2004, what and where are many of those folks now?
On the anniversary of my parents passing I always recall their life and what they meant to me as you doubtlesss do today. Thinking of you and your sweet mother with prayers and comforting memories. God Bless.

Ken, Dianna, and Family: While I'm sad to learn of Shirley's passing, I am reminded that there is victory in death for those who love the Lord. What I knew of Shirley, I am confident she has the victory! I have a beautiful vision of her walking over the bridge from this life into His eternal life - she is home and already with Him in paradise! She is part of the mighty chorus who gets to sing praises to our Lord and King! You are all in our prayers - I'll try to send my dad to the funeral in our stead. We'll see you when you return to Ohio.

I knew Shirley through First Place - she was an inspiration to all of us. She had a sweet spirit at all times, and impressed me with her bravery and FAITH. She truly knew the Lord as her personal savior, and it was evidenced by her attitude and personality. My sympathies are with her family - she will be sorely missed by all, but is rejoicing in Heaven with the angels! We will see her again!

Dear Nola Kay and Ken,

We are very sorry to learn of Shirley's death - she was a fine person. But we can now be assured that she no longer has any pain. We like to think of the reunions going on in heaven with all those who've gone before her from Otterbein and Faith. May God strengthen each of you during the difficult days ahead.
