Shirley Hudgins Scobie

Mrs. Shirley Hudgins Scobie, age 91, of Woodstock, went home to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2025. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Woodstock, and before her health declined, she was an active member of the Jack Campbell Sunday School Class. She was a Gideons Auxiliary until her husband's death, and she was active with the Christian Women's Club for many years.

Shirley truly loved her Lord and Savior, and it was evident in how she lived her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family.

Shirley is proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles J. Scobie; her parents, Malvern and Wilma Hudgins; and her aunt, Dorothy Owens Richards.

Shirley is survived by her children, Linda (Keith) Freshour of Marietta and Robert Scobie of Peachtree Corners; brother Horace (Carolyn) Hudgins of New Bloomfield, PA; grandchildren Robert (Jenna) Donar of Buford and Catherine (Evan) Martin of Woodstock; and great-grandchildren Devon Donar and Ashton Keith Martin.

Funeral services will be on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lakeside Funeral Home. The Scobie family will receive guests from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Friday morning. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.
