Shep and Shirley were the coolest adults in our neighborhood! They were a respite for me during during my teenage years and I will be grateful to them always. During the "straight hairstyle" years of high school Shirley would use her hair salon expertise to straighten my hair from time to time. She would listen to my cares and concerns and always have the right things to say. She was a lovely person in every way and I still think of her with gratitude from time to time. Shep? He was the grownup "kid," of mischief and fun. I still have a vivid memory (amongst others) of him going out for a long pass (of a small watermelon) in the Giant food store at Wards Corner! They were both such good, caring, and kind people. I also remember the day their daughter entered their (our) lives. A sweet beautiful blond haired child I fell in love with the minute I met her. I babysat her many, many times. Then came Trey, a miniature version of his father for whom I also babysat. I send love to you both and gratitude to Shep and Shirley for being such an important part of my life. I have not, and never will forget their kindness, generosity, and best of all, craziness! God bless them and their children and grandchildren.
Much love to you all, Leslie Nelson Pereira.
