On June 10, 1966, in the City of Fort Pierce, Earl Paul Williams, Jr. and Lillie Mae Blue Gilmore were blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom they named Shirley Louise.
Shirley received her education in the St. Lucie County Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1984 from Fort Pierce Central High School. Go Cobras!! She attended Southern University A & M College, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Shirley enjoyed traveling with family and friends, especially trips to the Bayou Classic and to visit family in Baton Rouge. She loved her electronics and she assisted us all when needed. Shirley was a member of St. Simon the Cyrenian Episcopal Church. She retired in 2019 from St. Lucie Public Schools due to health challenges.
On March 19, 2022 surrounded by family and friends, Shirley slipped away peacefully into the arms of God. She's now with her daughter, Precious Barnes who preceded her is death, as well as her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Shirley leaves to cherish her loving memories: Sisters, Eleanor Johnson, Linda Gilmore, Eva(Zachery) Pressley, and Dianne (John) Johnson all of Fort Pierce, FL; Nephews, Dexter and Vincent Gilmore, both of Atlanta, Ga., Michael Stockton of Baton Rouge, La., Aaron Kroder of Germany, Darrin Jackson of Ohio, Vennis Gilmore of Fort Pierce, Desmond Gilmore of West Palm Beach, and Ranford Senior, Jr. of Virginia. Nieces, Kristi Blaise of Philadelphia, PA. Shirley was blessed with Great Nieces and Nephews as well as Great- Great Nephews; Aunts, Mary (Joseph) Smith of Baton Rouge, La, Shirley (Robert) Combs of Zachary, La, and Josie (Two Cent) Harris of Fort Pierce, Fl. Special Little Sisters, Keva Miller of Lake Worth, Fl and Aliyah Johnson of Fort Pierce. Spiritual Mothers, Bernice Pressley and Brenda Newberry; Surrogate Sisters, Rita Johnson, Dannette Davis Wright and Marguerite Young; Special Friends, Pamela Gillem, Ann Cunningham, Donna Cunningham, Angie Cox Williams, the Collins Sisters (Trina, Angie, and Brenda), Bennie Morris, Greg Simpson, Jackie Cheryl Lowe and Elvie Roots and the Jenkins Family of Plaquemine, Louisiana. Sister in Law, Clara Jackson of Dothan, Al; Brothers in Law, Samuel Edwards of Port St. Lucie, Fl and Ranford Senior of Fort Pierce; Goddaughter, Ivy Ware and a host of other relatives and neighborhood friends who loved her dearly.
Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID-19 have been relaxed, we at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
