Sidney Buck Jake, aged 31, of Cedar City, Utah, passed away on August 25, 2024. Born on December 4, 1992, in Cedar City, Sidney was a cherished son of the late Robyn Jake Moon and Wilson Moon. He was also a loving brother to his late siblings, Landon Jake, Lyric Moon, Angel Alvarez and Wade Moon.
Sidney attended East Elementary and Toole Elementary, followed by Canyon View High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Throughout his life, Sidney worked in various capacities as a warehouse laborer, demonstrating a strong work ethic and versatility.
A man of deep faith, Sidney was born into the LDS Religion then found a spiritual community at Church in the Park as an adult, where he made many friends and was actively involved.
Sidney was a free spirit known for his kindness and respectfulness. He had a profound love for music, ranging from punk rock to various other genres, and he enjoyed spending time with his cousins and friends, sharing music and adventures. Sidney was also an avid handgame player and singer, a tradition he cherished deeply within his family.
He is survived by his aunts, Jeanine (Robert Jr.) Borchardt and Anthonia Jake; uncles, Thomas Wash and Delano Moon; Sister, Shanesse Moon, Nephew Sonny Moon, Niece; Addriana Moon Ramirez; and numerous cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robyn Jake and Wilson Moon; maternal grandparents, Wilford Jake and Patrisha Wash; siblings - sister Lyric Moon, brothers, Angel Serafin Alvarez; Landon Blue Moon and Wade Moon.
Services to honor Sidney's life will be held on Thursday September 5, 2024 at the Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 North 300 West, Cedar City, Utah. A viewing is scheduled for 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am. Sidney will be laid to rest at Cedar City Cemetery. Final arrangements are under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
