Passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the age of 84 years. The daughter of the late Jack and Rose (Ickes) Buddle was born on September 11, 1940, in Saginaw. She graduated from Saginaw High School. Sonya married Robert F. Frost on September 26, 1959; he predeceased her on June 21, 2016, after 57 years of marriage. Together Sonya and Bob owned Frost Shopping Center. She also enjoyed working as a tax preparer for McDonald & Associates, retiring at age 83. Sonya had many hobbies and talents including golfing, ceramics, woodworking, going to the movies and casino, playing cards, going to concerts, and her coffee day every Tuesday with a group of girls she went to school with. Most of all she cherished the time spent with her family and loved taking trips to North Dakota and Oklahoma to see her grandkids.
Surviving are two daughters: Becky (Craig) Smith and Tracy (Jerry) Lange; grandchildren: Skeeter (Erika) Weber, Kelsey (Tyler) Carroll, and Brian "Jay" (Chelsey) Cox Jr., great-grandsons: Cooper, Cohen and Corbyn Carroll, and Hudson Cox; brother Don (Suzie) Richard, sister-in-law Donna (Otto) Pretzer, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins
Sonya was predeceased by her husband Robert Floyd Frost; parents Jack and Rose Buddle; mother- and father-in-law Ann and Floyd Frost; sisters: Sharon (Ron) Bishop and Jacquelyn Ecker, sisters-in-law: Edwina Frost and Carol (David) Eimers; and best friend Marion Hales.
Honoring Sonya's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Merrill Wesleyan Church, 3765 N Chapin Rd, Merrill, MI 48637. Pastor Tim Morris will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 10:00 am until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Merrill Wesleyan Church. Arrangements entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors.
