Stacey Dobbs Obituary

DOBBS, III STACEY MALONE (CHIP) died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the age of 50. He had more friends than most men twice his age. Forty pallbearers will attend Chips casket at his funeral. The website set up just a few weeks ago so his family could report daily on Chip’s health has received nearly 10, 000 hits. The site also channeled a flood of concerned calls and potential visitors to a guestbook which friends and coworkers filled with good wishes and love for Chip. Every message was read to him. The guestbook now offers words of comfort to his family and they invite you to sign it at www.caringbridge.org/visit/dobbs as nearly 400 others have thus far. Chip was a loving husband and father, devoted son, brother, uncle, friend, and endeared boss. He was the Senior Vice President and Nashville Complex Manager of Wachovia Securities. He graduated from Saint Henry School, Father Ryan High School, and The University of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father, Stacey Malone Dobbs, Jr. Chip is survived by his wife, Karen Young Dobbs, daughters, Brittany and Hayley Dobbs, mother, Ann Perkerson Dobbs, sisters, Rita Johnson (Jim) and Denise Richards (Jerre), brother, Bill Dobbs (Laurie), and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Wednesday, March 14, at St. Henry’s Church. Immediately following the visitation, there will be an Irish Wake in Fellowship Hall. The funeral mass will be held at the same location on Thursday, March 15, 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the Chip Dobbs endowment scholarship fund benefiting St. Cecilia Academy or the Minnie Pearl Foundation.
