On Friday, July 16, 2022, we lost an awesome and beautiful soul to the Lord. Stacy Dawn Tobiasson Whitmore, was visiting family in Ely, Nevada when she was hospitalized due to the rages of cancer, which she had been fighting valiantly for an extended period of time. As was her nature, she fought to live the past several months. Stacy had recently been admitted to and treated at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. During this time, Stacy was cared for by her loving and loyal older sister and brother-in-law, Karma and Dell Robison. They accompanied her to Utah, staying several days while she received treatment. Karma made Stacy's care the focus of her life during this time, assuring she received the necessary care to keep her pain minimal. The family is forever grateful to Karma and Dell for the generosity of their time spent caring for Stacy. The family acknowledges the relentless support of childhood and life-long friend, Roy Robbins, who was there from the beginning with Stacy's early treatment and surgeries in Las Vegas. Special appreciation goes to Ashley and Andrea, Stacy's friends, who helped her with many chores and tasks during her lengthy illness.
Stacy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 4, 1967, to Virginia "Beezy" Lani and Glade Tobiasson. She joined her older siblings; Troy, Theresa and Karma, where she lived throughout her lifetime in Logandale and Moapa Valley, Nevada. Stacy attended local schools and graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1985, where she was Harvest Queen during her senior year.
In 1987 Stacy married Joseph Whitmore and they added three boys to their family, Joseph Jake, Michael Roxton and Kyler Ford. Stacy worked at several jobs in the area and was always known as an excellent, hard worker who took on any task placed before her. She never met a stranger and was always the first person to help others when the need arose.
Stacy is survived by her three sons; Jake, Mike and Ford Whitmore, and her grandchildren, Brynlee, Tylee and Weston. Siblings: Troy Tobiasson, Theresa Freeman, Karma Robison and special sister, Delanna Yada. Nieces and nephews include: Toby, Jenni, Sara, Kia Mae, Kyla, Trisha and Albert. Stacy has numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who also survive her. Grandparents who passed on before include: maternal grandparents, Lida and Albert Lani of Ely, Nevada and paternal grandparents, Heber Tobiasson and Verna Heller, of Moapa Valley. Stacy also lost several aunts, uncles and cousins in the past.
As requested by Stacy there will be only a graveside service, scheduled for Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 8 a.m., to avoid the heat of the day, at the Logandale Cemetery in Logandale, Nevada. Vernon Robison will provide the eulogy at the service. Pallbearers will be Troy Tobiasson, Toby Tobiasson, Jake Whitmore, Mike Whitmore, Ford Whitmore and Albert Robison. Honorary pallbearer is Roy Robbins.
We will miss Stacy's beautiful, sparking blue eyes and her can-do attitude we've enjoyed during her life time. She is no longer in the terrible pain she experienced and we are very thankful for the peace she now enjoys with the Lord. She loved her grandchildren dearly and they loved her back.
You will always be our spunky, blonde sweetheart, Stacy. We love you eternally, Rest in Peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to consider a donation be made to Huntsman Cancer Institute to support and continue research for a cure. HCI, 2000 Circle of Hope, SLC, UT 84112
