Stanley T. Kilburn, 80, of Lapel, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Community Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on May 4, 1944, in Anderson, Indiana to Carl and Martha (Tull) Kilburn.
He was a 1962 graduate of Lapel High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He retired from General Telephone as a manager. He also was an EMT with the Stony Creek Township Fire Department.
He was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post #212, the American Legion Honor Guard and the Lapel Eagles Aerie #4323.. He loved helping people. He loved spending time with his family.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Karen (Mosier) Kilburn; three children, Brian (wife, Renee) Kilburn of Noblesville, Kim (husband, Bob) Orelup of Fortville and Kris (husband, Mike) Pavey of Rushville; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Aiden, Emma, Drake, Josh, Max, Lily and Evie; three brothers, Phil Kilburn of French Lick, Alan (wife, Sue) Kilburn of Anderson and Dennis Kilburn of Lapel; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stephen Kilburn.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel conducted by the Lapel American Legion Post #212 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday at Bozell Funeral Home, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans of Madison County and the Lapel Food Bank, 925 North Ford Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
