Stephen Paul Brown, of St. Clair Shores, a man known for his loving heart and friendly spirit, passed away on April 15, 2025, in Clinton Township, at the age of 70. Born on July 9, 1954, in Detroit, Stephen's life was marked by his kindness, his dedication to his family and friends, and his passion for life's simple pleasures.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Marshall, who was not only his partner in life but also his favorite dance companion at the many dinner dances they attended at the Italian Cultural Center in Clinton Township. His memory will be cherished by his feathered friend, Hiccup the parrot, who was always by his side. He will be deeply missed by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Carolyn Brown, as well as his three sisters, Cheryll Ann Barnette, Margaret Mary "Marnie" Pisani, and Faye Elizabeth McClure; brothers-in-law, Rudy (Katie) Gacobelli, David (Anna) Wahla and Eugene (Lisa) Gacobelli. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom were touched by his warmth and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon James "Jim" and Kathryn Laura (Morena) Brown.
Stephen dedicated two decades of his life to his work in tool and die at Cut-Rite, located in Macomb Township and had attended St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Clair Shores. He was a man who took pride in his work and the bonds he formed with his colleagues and associates.
His interests were as varied as they were joyous. Stephen had a zest for life that was contagious. He loved to don a new costume every Halloween, delighting in the laughter and smiles he brought to those around him. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace and excitement in hunting, boating, and fishing. Stephen's adventurous spirit shone brightly on the road as well, as he explored the country in his RV, creating unforgettable memories and stories to share.
Stephen's legacy is one of joy and camaraderie. He ensured that fun was had by all, whether it was a quiet day on the lake or a lively gathering with friends and family. His kind and friendly nature made him a beloved figure in his community, and his absence will be felt by many.
A memorial mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Margaret of Scotland, St. Clair Shores, with 9:30 visiting. Rev. Ronald DeHondt, Pastor, will officiate. A luncheon will follow at Barrister Gardens Banquet Center, St. Clair Shores.
