ROSEDALE- Stephen H. Crane, 80, of Rosedale, Indiana went home to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in his residence.
He was a first generation, lifelong, grain and cattle farmer. He was born June 28, 1944, in Clinton, Indiana to the late Cecil Woodrow Crane and Rosina Riso Crane.
His wife of 53 years, Donella J. McPike Crane whom he married October 12, 1968, preceded him in death June 20, 2022.
Survivors include one son, Todd (Amy)Crane of Rosedale; daughter, Gina Crane of Rosedale; sister, Diane Williams of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law, Randy (Marty) McPike of Rosedale; three grandchildren, Trevor Crane, Kaitlyn (Brock) Oxford, and Wyatt Kuhn; nieces and nephews, John Williams, Tony Williams, Trish Loomis and Travis McPike. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Ronn Williams and nephew, Michael Williams.
He was a 1962 graduate of Rosedale High School and served with the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was on the board of Friendly Benwood Community Youth Campground and served on the selection committee of the Parke County REMC. He was a fan of Sycamores and Hoosiers basketball, as well as an avid Terre Haute Rex baseball fan.
Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 14, at Friendly Grove Baptist Church, 8575 S. 75 W. Rosedale, with the Rev. Perry Mager officiating. Burial will follow at Crane-Brunot Cemetery, Rosedale. Visitation is 4-8 pm Friday at the Friendly Grove Baptist Church. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to Friendly Benwood Community Youth Campground (FBC), 525 East County Road 1200 North Brazil, IN 47834 in his memory.

My heart is sadden and Steve will be missed very much. He was a very good friend for many years. We enjoyed talking on the phone or visiting in person, and sharing our interests in cattle and farming. I have known Steve since 1967 and I have cherished our friendship. I will truly miss him. God bless him.
