Stephen F. Dobscha

STEPHEN F. DOBSCHA, age 63, passed away in his home in University Heights on September 7, 2025, from pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband of 38 years to Szilvia (née Könczöl); dearest father of Katherine Dobscha (Brendan LeMay) and Michael Dobscha; dear brother of Francis Dobscha (Janice); cherished uncle.

Steve was born in Pittsburgh, PA. Growing up, his uncles and cousins taught him to hunt and shoot, and he kept a love for these sports his entire life. Steve attended John Carroll University and received a law degree from Case Western Reserve University. He made his move to Cleveland permanent when he began practicing law in Ohio in 1987.

Steve's depth of knowledge was amazing. He credited this to his love of books and his almost photographic memory for the written word. Steve could fix practically anything. Neighbors knew they could count on him for advice, tools, and help with any repairs or home emergencies. Steve was an incredibly well-rounded man in the style of the old pioneers, and he will be missed terribly.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Steve to Church of the Gesu Parish, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Heights, OH 44118.

Funeral Mass Friday September 19, 2025 at Church of the Gesu at 11:00 a.m. Interment private, Lake View Cemetery.
