Stephen Albert Forbush was born June 3, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio to Horace Albert and Kathryn Fry Forbush. He entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was seventy-four years, eight months and seven days of age.

Stephen was raised in Ohio and graduated from Midpark High School and attended Ohio State University. He was employed at a steel mill following his graduation and contracted out to Union Pacific Railroad. He was with the railroad for some thirty-six years and was a railroad conductor. He then moved to Santa Cruz, California and worked there until he retired in 2011.

Stephen liked to travel to different countries like Vietnam, Russia andThe Philippines. It was there he met his wife, Lee. They were married February 19, 2017. They enjoyed traveling and purchased a motorhome to tour and see the United States.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Kathryn Forbush.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly nine years, Lee; his siblings, Connie Wilkins and her husband James, Elaine Jewett and her husband Mike, Mike Forbush, Vicki Suchy and Sharon Jensen and her husband Gregg.

Stephen was a very independent man who had a curious mind and loved learning. He enjoyed watching and learning from YouTube University. He liked being outdoors and enjoyed walking. He tried to lead a healthy lifestyle.

He was a hard-working man and a friend and co-worker that you could depend on. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them.

Funeral services for Stephen Forbush will be Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 2 - 4 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Lebanon.

A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
