Stephen Leonard Guardino

Stephen L. Guardino, 74 yrs old of Palm Coast, Florida died peacefully
on July 24, 2024 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House at Advent Hospital.
Born on May 31, 1950 the son of Leonard J. & Mildred C. Guardino in
Brooklyn NY where he lived until the age of 14 yrs before moving to
Farmingdale, NJ.
He finished Howell High School in the class of 1968.
While in high school he joined a local band, The Warlocks, in which he
played bass guitar and sang lead vocals. He left that band to join
another local one called The Destiny, in which he also played the bass
guitar and sang lead vocals. While playing in these bands he met his
future wife Katherine Papp. They remained high school sweethearts
before marrying in May 1971. After high school, he also served in the
Air Force where he was honorably discharged.
Steve is survived by his wife of 53 years Katherine, his daughter,
Jennifer and husband Thomas Mahoney with his granddaughter,
Samantha Mahoney; his son Stephen L Guardino Jr. and granddaughter,
Brooklyn Markoski and great grandson Emmett.
Steve was a graduate of the 1973 class of the NJ State Police Academy
Sea Girt. He was an auxiliary patrolman on Point Pleasant Beach Dept.,
Point Pleasant before becoming a Patrolman on Hazlet Township Police
Dept. from Oct. 1973 until Jan 1981 where he not only was a patrolman
but also started the department's Crime Prevention Unit, Neighborhood
Watch Programs and Operation ID programs. After leaving Hazlet he
became a patrolman on Manalapan Twp. Police Department January
1981 - June 1983. He retired and started his own business Silent Knight
Investigations Inc. May 1985 - Nov. 1994, along with Interstate Security
Systems in Jackson, NJ. Steve and his family moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 1993 where he
was employed as Loss Control Manager for K-Mart until the store
closing. He then started his own Home Inspections company, Flagler
Home Inspections. Steve was a former president of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement
Motorcycle Club Chapter VI in New Jersey, a member of the Fraternal
Order of Police Lodge 10 Toms River NJ, and a member of the New
Jersey State P.B.A Local 189 Hazlet NJ. He was also a member of the
Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club Florida Chapter XX11
Flagler County Chapter Florida.
Besides spending time with his family, Steve enjoyed motorcycle riding
with his wife and friends, traveling with his wife, restoring old Chrysler
muscle cars along with boating, fishing and metal detecting.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 4-7PM, at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown, NJ.
Interment will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11AM, in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. The family cordially invites family and friends to the Hamilton Tap & Grill, 557 US-130, Hamilton Township, NJ 08691.
