Stephen Hopkins Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 26, 2024.
Stephen A. Hopkins, 69, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at his residence.
Born in Utica, New York, he was the son of the late Eldon A. Hopkins Jr. and Edna (Stephenson) Hopkins.
Stephen was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and worked as a Long Haul Truck Driver for many years. He enjoyed kyacking, fishing, playing horseshoe, softball, and was an avid sports fan. Stephen was a dedicated son, brother, caretaker and friend. Spending time with his family was very important, and whatever was needed, he made sure everyone and everything was taken care of. He had a heart of gold and always put the needs of others before himself. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Eldon A. Hopkins III and his wife Lynn of Acushnet, Jessica Hopkins and her husband Albert Wheeler of New Bedford, and Cheryl Hopkins of Fairhaven; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Kevin, Jonathan and Katie Hopkins, and Audrey and Jeremy Ramsey. He was the brother of the late Cynthia Hopkins.
Private arrangements are in the care of WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St. Fairhaven, MA 02719. The family will announce at a later date a Celebration of Life in his memory for family and friends. For on-line tributes, please visit our website at www.waring-sullivan.com
