Stephen Leo Koscinski, 66, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital in Utica.
Stephen was born in Utica, NY, June 18, 1958, a son of the late Stanley and Mary (Cannan) Koscinski. He was raised and educated in local schools and graduated from Notre Dame High School. He continued his education at Mohawk Valley Community College.
On July 18, 2020, he was united in marriage to the former Bernadette Adamczyk. Mr. Koscinski was at one time the co-owner and operator of West Utica Supermarket Foodland. He later held a position with Price Chopper, for over twenty years, as a Meat Cutter, and currently working at Trinity Services, in Oriskany, as a truck driver. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Utica, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Greenfield Fish and Game Club in Marcy.
Stephen enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, and weekend breakfast with Rich and Dan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a huge heart and would do anything for others.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bernadette; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Lynn and her companion, Jose Angel Castaneda La O both of Cicero, NY, and Bethany and Jeffrey Nassimos of Constantia, NY; a son, Brian Scharbach and his companion, Katie Hall both of Yorkville; grandchildren, Camron, Conner, and Garrett Scharbach, Egypt Walls, Pharaoh Walls, Persia Walls, Genesis Angel Castaneda La O, Aidan Nassimos, and Grace Nassimos; three brothers and a sister-in-law, John Koscinski of Stittville, Michael and Ann Koscinski of Ogdensburg, NY, and David Koscinski of Utica; and a sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Richard Mlynarczyk of Marcy. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with Mr. Koscinski's wishes there will be no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial which on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Church, 1206 Lincoln Ave., Utica, NY. The family will receive visitors in church at the conclusion of services. Arrangements are under the care of Wolanin Funeral Home, 266 Main St., New York Mills.
Memorial contributions in Stephen's memory may be considered to the charity of the donors choice. Envelopes will be available at Church.
