Mr. Stephen Thomas "Steve" Storey, age 67, of Between, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on March 30, 2024.
Born April 20, 1956 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Roscoe T "Cokey" and Sue Ella Rampy Storey. Steve was a longtime resident of Snellville, GA and retired from ER Snell Contractor Inc. He was an avid lover of ole-timey drag racing and had made many friends over the years in the racing community. Gun collecting was a passionate hobby for Steve. He was found to never be at a loss of words when talking about his love of cars and guns.
Survivors include his longtime friend and companion, Beth Wilson, who has lovingly been by his side taking care of him in their home during his six year illness. She gave him continuous homebound care since November. He is also survived by his uncle, Ray Rampy (Jeane) of Liberty, SC. Steve was one of 12 cousins of the Rampy Family and the first to pass on. Surviving Cousins include, June Ponder of SC, Mike Harrison of AL, Kay Rampy of TN, Lynn Menendez of TN, Morris Harrsion of GA, Pat Forrester of SC, Donna Lanford of GA, Jeff Wiggins of GA, Shane Rampy of SC, Mark Harison of GA, and Blake Rampy of SC. Other Storey Family Cousins include, Freddie Dukes of TN and Nancy Williams of TN.
He was preceded in death by his uncles and aunts, Rothell Rampy, Hugh (Jane) Rampy, Sara (Ferd) Moore (Dan) Merck, Minnie (Marvin) Harrison, Jean (Jockey) Wiggins, Bubba Storey, Norma (Fred) Dukes and daughter Faye Dukes, Mabel (Lewis) Casey Todd and son Joey Rosier.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 20, 2024 (Steve's 68th birthday) at Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery in Toccoa, GA with the Rev. Bill Stacey and Mr. Mike Harrison officiating. Steve's cremated remains will be placed along side his grandparents, Freeman Mitchell and Odessel Nimmons Rampy.
