Stephen Lee Strickland, age 64, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastor Jim Bolin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until 11am prior to the ceremony. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica, Georgia.
A lifelong resident of Marietta, Mr. Strickland graduated from Osborne High School. He worked as a mechanic for AAMCO Transmissions, worked at Lockheed, and most recently was working as a Field Engineer for Austell Gas Systems. He also loved riding dirt bikes and working on cars. He could literally fix anything. He was a loving father and grandfather, and was affectionately known to them as "Gramps". He was a longtime member of Trinity Chapel where he played bass guitar in the praise band, and currently attended Passion City Church.
Survivors include: Wife of 42 years, Julie A. Strickland; Son, Stephen Lee Strickland, Jr., Marietta, GA; Daughter, Katherine Michelle (Aaron) Mitchell, Kennesaw, GA; Grandsons, Nolan Mitchell and Maddox Mitchell.
The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
