Steve graduated High School from Noble in 1969. He received his Associates Degree from Oscar Rose Junior College in 1976 and later earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1980 from Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma. Steve married the love of his life, Janet K. Vice on August 18, 1973. To this marriage they added a son, Timothy Alan whom they devoted their life to until his passing in November of 2023. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1969. After basic training, he trained for United States Army Signal Corps. Upon completion of training, he left Ft. Gordon, GA and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany for 3 years. According to his nephew, Deacon Vice, his Uncle Steve told him that he was also one of the few who helped develop the B2 Bomber. He would never elaborate because of it being classified. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1975. Steve held a multitude of jobs throughout his youth that he would tell stories about (to anyone that would listen). These stories would often make his listeners laugh and he always followed with a big laughter, himself. After his military career, he worked at Tinker Air Force Base holding many positions from jet engine mechanic to program manager.
