Steve Combs Obituary

Steve was born in Chattanooga, TN on September 17, 1955 and was a 1973 graduate of Dade County High School. He was a member of the General Church of God, & retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad where he served as transportation communications representative for Lookout Lodge #24. Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Summerford, step-father, Howard Summerford, and father, Roy Combs.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sherry West Combs; sons, Kyle & Kasay (Christie) Combs; brother, Paul (Cheryl) Summerford; sister, Brenda Tully; brother-in-law, Bill (Sherron) West; grandchildren, Kayla Deck & Hunter Mullins; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Floyd Kilgore officiating. Full military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #106. Private burial will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the American Legion Post #106. Condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
