John Stephen "Steve" Ladas, 74, of Hanover, MA, passed away peacefully in Boston on October 7, 2025. He was born in Hingham, MA, on April 24, 1951, the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Ladas.

Steve attended UMass Boston and earned his law degree from New England School of Law. He proudly served in the U.S. Army before beginning a distinguished career as a personal injury lawyer. Steve was among the last of a rare and fading generation of true gentleman lawyers. Known for his integrity, warmth, and dedication, he represented both individuals and insurers with unwavering fairness and professionalism for many years. He approached the practice of law with quiet dignity, treating clients, colleagues, and even adversaries with respect, kindness, and grace. Steve brought a personal touch to everything he did and genuinely valued the human connections formed through his work. His charm and sharp sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He often referred to his peers as his "esteemed brothers and sisters" in the law-a reflection of his deep regard for the legal profession and the people within it.

Steve was one of the good guys-steady, kind, and always there when it counted. He was deeply dependable and immensely trustworthy, someone his family and friends could always rely on for guidance, support, or simply a listening ear. Known for his warmth, charm, and sharp sense of humor, Steve brought a lightness to every room he entered and a sincerity to every relationship he nurtured.

Steve's impeccable style was well known, thanks in no small part to the loving care and refined taste of his beautiful wife, Pat. Their enduring partnership was the foundation of his life. Together, they built a warm and loving home, filled with laughter, mutual respect, and lasting memories. Pat's love and unwavering support were his greatest sources of strength.

Above all, Steve's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to Pat and a proud father to his two sons, Jon and Dan, whom he cherished deeply and spoke of often with admiration and affection. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and the bond they shared remained a constant source of happiness and grounding throughout his life.

Steve also treasured the friendships and connections he formed over the years-whether on the golf course, in the courtroom, or around the dinner table. He valued time spent with those he loved and lived his life with quiet generosity, loyalty, and heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat, of Plymouth; his sons, Jon and his wife Lara of Weymouth, and Dan of Plymouth. He also leaves his siblings: Christine and Gary Jordan of Plymouth; Robert Ladas of Halifax; Karen and Wade Grande of Florida; Beth and Ed Harrington of Pembroke; and Candace and Steve Psaros of Pembroke. Steve is also survived by his in-laws: Nancy and Gina O'Brien of New Jersey; Karen and Paul Miret of Florida; and J. Edward O'Brien of Wakefield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their Uncle Steve.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 Hanover, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 18, at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Parish- St. Mary's Church, 392 Hanover St, Rte 139 Hanover, MA. Interment will follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
