Richard "Steve" Sullins, age 71, of Red Rock, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2025.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 2 PM at the Nazarene Church in Perry with Rev. Steve Smith and Chris Short officiating. Steve will be laid to rest at Ceres Cemetery following the service. Viewing will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 8 AM to 8 PM at Trout Funeral Home of Perry. Family visitation will be from 6-8 PM.
Steve was born on November 23, 1953 in Ponca City to Richard and Billie Sullins. Steve grew up in Red Rock and graduated from Red Rock High School in 1972. He married Teddi Bonewell on January 17, 1976 in Ponca City. To this union was born Steve and Teddi's greatest blessings: Cody, Adam, and Stephanie.
Steve loved his family more than anything in his life. He worked his entire life farming and ranching with his family by his side. Early in life Steve developed a love for FFA and stock showing that he shared with his family. Steve was a proud recipient of both the State and American FFA degrees. Steve loved working with the animals, trying to get them in the best condition to compete in the next show. From his own showing career to helping with his sister Sherri's, then his kids and grandkids, the love of looking for a win, and the sheer joy when one was found, was something he just couldn't get enough of. Steve was also a long-term member of the Noble County Fair Board and the Soil Conservation Board. When there were breaks in the hard work of the farm and show barn, Steve would find his way to a pond or dam or a hunting blind. Fishing being his favorite of the two where he made many memories with friends and family. The best part of fixing fence was when he would say to throw the fishing poles in too, just in case they had time, which he usually made sure there was. He leaves his family with many wonderful memories, and a legacy of hard work and a love for land and livestock.
Steve is survived by his wife, Teddi of the home; son, Cody Sullins and wife, Elisha; son, Adam Sullins and wife, Julie; daughter, Stephanie Treiner and husband, Ben; mother, Billie Sullins; sister, Sherri Roland and husband, Collie of Clearwater, Kansas; and grandchildren, Trent Buchanan, Logan Buchanan, Hunter Buchanan, Elyssa Sullins, Caydon Sullins, Adaleigh Sullins, Gus Sullins, McKenna Treiner, Kylie Treiner, and Jaycie Treiner.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Richard "Dick" Sullins.
