Steve Turner

Mr. Steve Turner, 68, of Villa Rica, GA, passed away suddenly Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at home.

Steve was born June 21, 1957 to the late Harry Turner and Mary Nell Griffis Turner. He attended the Villa Rica schools and graduated in the 1975 class of the High School. His musical talents were a big part of the band program.
Steve was a dedicated worker with Georgia Power for 44 years as the plant mechanic in many of their generating plants.
He was so devoted to helping others...family, friends, strangers. He quietly provided sustenance, care, and compassion. He was also an avid lover of animals. His beloved beagles and other pets brought him many hours of joy and companionship. Another recreational joy was his beautiful pool where he swam, exercised, relaxed and maintained with great skill.
Steve's musical abilities were far-reaching. At one time, he had his own band which brought quality entertainment to the audiences. He also played in several churches on special occasions and was a regular soloist at his home church at Bethany.
Steve excelled in Biblical studies. His recollection of facts and his ability to teach were an amazement to many classes and discussions. He was a faithful member of Bethany Christian Church where he was present at all events. He made a very positive impression on his fellow Christians and dedicated himself to loving and serving others in Christian love.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Turner Beckham and granddaughter, Livia Rose Tidmore.

Steve is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bonnie Cooper Turner of Villa Rica, children, Brandon (Jeannie) Turner of Carrollton, Amanda Bovona of Villa Rica, Clayton Steve Turner of Kailua-Kona, HI, Jude Tidmore of Villa Rica, step-daughter, Kimberly Tidmore of Lilburn, his beloved dog, Buddy, brother-in-law, Bill Beckham of Carrollton, eleven grandchildren and three great grand-children.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 14, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at J. Collins Funeral Home. Also, Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:30 AM TO 11:00 AM at Bethany Christian Church.

Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM from Bethany Christian Church with Minister Chip Ward officiating. Mrs. Edna Jordan giving the eulogy.
