Steven Anthony Barnett, 37, of Sugar Hill, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. He was born on August 6, 1985 in Jackson, Mississippi. He is the son of Billy Joe Barnett and Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Stump Barnett.
Steven was a graduate of Loganville High School and attended Andrew College and Emmanuel College where he studied Sports Management. He was currently working as a project engineer with Keller North America, Inc. Steven had a passion for baseball and played in many leagues including a league in Canada. He loved the game and enjoyed coaching the youth with the Southeast Barons travel baseball team. Steven loved the outdoors, but his greatest joy was his family, especially his two boys who he dearly loved.
Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather James Billy Barnett and his maternal grandparents Guy Davis Stump, Jr. and Margaret Joann Davis Stump.
Steven is survived by his beloved parents Billy and Cindy Barnett of Villa Rica, Ga; his two sons Braydon Guy Barnett and Liam Tate Barnett; the mother of his children Jennifer Barnett; his brother Andrew Leigh Barnett and wife Ishimae of Douglasville, GA and David Michael Barnett and wife Misti of Vance, AL; his nieces and nephews Kaitlyn Marie Barnett, Zachary Davis Barnett, Liliana Grace Barnett, Kayden Marie Hickox, and Brody Lawson Barnett; his paternal grandmother Earlene Barnett; his girlfriend Lauren Folsom along with numerous aunts, uncles and a host of cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Atlanta West Pentecostal Church with Pastor Darrell Johns officiating. Andrew Barnett, David Barnett, Nathan Barnett, Matthew Kennison, Cory Willig and Alex Delgado will be serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
Flowers will be accepted, or expressions of sympathy may be in the form of memorial contributions to Atlanta West Pentecostal Church, 2960 Skyview Drive, Lithia Springs, GA 30122
