Steven Raymond Franklin, age 68, recently of Millsboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Steve, the third of five children of Carl and Leona Franklin, was born on June 27, 1957, in West Chester, PA. His very early years were enjoyed on farms in London Grove, PA, until his family relocated in Elsmere, DE.

From an early age, Steve's smile warmed the hearts of family and friends. Steve was an Auto Service Underwriter for several dealerships. His pleasing and easy going personality fit well with his sales and service career.

As much as Steve gave joy to others, his children Lara (Kevin), Deborah (Shane), and Alex were his heart. His children and grandchildren (Anthony, Nicole and Brianna) were always the center of his happiness, pride and purpose. Steve lived these last few years with Lara and her family, and was lovingly cared by Lara as his health declined.

Besides his family, Steve loved everything NASCAR and going to music concerts. He also loved visiting and spending time with family and friends at a hunting lodge in central PA, a campground on the NorthEast River, MD, or visiting Crossnore, NC for family reunions.

Steve will be welcomed home by his predeceased parents, his sister Nancy and her husband Dave, his brothers Butch and Ray, his nephews David and Jonathan.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Steve is survived by his sister Kim, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at a future date.
