Steven Dale Green, 54, passed away on June 17 of 2025 from complications of pancreatitis and kidney failure. He was surrounded by his close family.
Steve was born in Utah on April 20, 1971, son of Doug and Pat Green. From the day he was born, Steve unrelentlessly showed his mischievous yet brilliant mind to all that crossed his path. He grew up with seven siblings, each of whom loved him with all they had. At age 17, Steve joined the United States Army. He began with basic and airborne ranger school, and then worked without yielding to become a Green Beret. His fearlessness in the Army solidified the foundation he had set himself as a child - one of bravery, courage, and determination that was indescribable.
In addition to his service to his country, Steve held a love for knowledge and obtained several degrees throughout his life. He held a Bachelors of Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Weber State University, Masters of Business Administration from Regent University, and a Juris Doctorate from Regent University.
Despite his many successes in business and academics, these never held a candle to what his family meant to him. Steve's greatest accomplishment was his marriage to Holly Green on June 18, 1996. Together, they raised three children, Aubree, Zachary, and Korynn. He was affectionately referred to as "Mr. Mom," as he prioritized spending time with his family over any job or any task. Steve had many beloved titles, including coach, Dad, elementary school ground duty, chaperone, chauffeur, cheerleader, chef, teacher, and comedian. Most importantly, he held the title of "Pappy" to his grandson, Bradley.
Steve was often described as a man who had an immediate impact on those who knew him; he was a man who, with just a few words, would make people's lives brighter. The stories Steve lived are far too many to share, but those who knew him knew his tales well. He consistently donated to charities, but hated when anyone knew that he was such a giving individual, as his humility was his hidden charm.
For those wishing to donate on behalf of Steve's memory, consider donating to
St. Jude's Hospital, the Green Beret Foundation, or Till Valhalla Project.
Steve will be missed in an indescribable way. He was loved by many and inspired even more to live unapologetically true to oneself, as he did.
His celebration of life will be held at 2700 Ballahack Rd,
Chesapeake, VA, 23322 on June 27th at 1PM.
