Steven Michel Hedges 45, passed away suddenly in Columbus, Oh on April 27, 2025. Steven was born August 5, 1979, to Jo Ellen Evans in Columbus, OH., however he grew up in Beverly and Marietta, OH. area.
Steven played football as a young boy and was an ardent fan of Ohio State Buckeyes football and Superman. Steven loved music, especially Elvis Presley, and Christian artist Carman. Steven loved to cook, but avoided any dishes filled with drama. Steven was the first generation on both side of his family to graduate high school from Independence High School, Col. OH.
Steven was born again of the Holy Spirit as a young man, following his Lord in believer’s baptism. Steven’ faith remained an integral part of his short life.
Those left to celebrate Steven’ transition to his heavenly home is his beloved older sister C. Dannell Copeland (David), and little sister BJ Arrington. Steven had several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly: Justin (Kamihla) McBurney, Nikki (Brett) Holstein, Ashley McBurney, Chelesa Copeland, Wm. Jonah Wheeler (Steven’ double), Joshua Arrington, and great nephews Arthur Daniel Holstein, Josiah C. McBurney along with several cousins.
The Lord gifted Steven with Ms. Lisa, who worked assisting him in life and business. Steven worked for several years with Dynalab, in Columbus, OH.
Those who were translated prior to Stevie: his maternal grandparents Charles and Bobby Evans, his Aunt Patti Yeknich, his aunt Kathy Wamsley, uncle Clinton Evans, cousins Donald “Bubby” Holbrook, and Michael Presley, Kim Presley,
A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest in Powell, Ohio, on May 2, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM and continuing until 11:00 AM. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Steven will be laid to rest at Obetz Cemetery in Obetz, Ohio. Rabbi Dr. Vonda K. Lee officiating
