Steven James Mogg, aged 53, passed away peacefully at his home on November 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be announced by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.
Born on September 30, 1971, in Owosso, Michigan, to George and Helen (Belcher) Mogg. Raised in a warm, close-knit family, Steven grew up alongside his siblings, Mary (Charles) McCormick and Michael (Maria) Mogg, who survive him and hold dear the memories of their shared childhood. A proud graduate of Durand High School, Steven carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life.
On March 14, 1997, Steven married his soulmate, Mary Robbins, in a beautiful ceremony in the quaint town of Owosso. Their love story was one of mutual respect, deep affection, and unwavering support. Steven's devotion to his family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, and their children, Jason Robbins, Nicholas Mogg, Sabrina Mogg, and Victoria Mogg, who will forever cherish his legacy. Steven's joy was multiplied with the arrival of each of his grandchildren, Destanie, Ezekiel, Landrum, Nolan, Jaxson, and Wilder, who brought immense happiness and laughter into his life.
Professionally, Steven found his calling as a cook at Pleasant View Assisted Living in Owosso, where he was not only known for his culinary skills but also for his ability to brighten the day of residents and colleagues alike. His thoughtful and creative nature was evident in every meal he prepared, as he believed that food was one of the many ways to express care and love for others.
An avid outdoorsman, Steven relished every chance to be in nature. He eagerly anticipated each deer season, finding solace and excitement in the quiet of the woods. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his love for the Detroit Lions, whose games he rarely missed. Steven's enthusiasm was infectious, and his presence made every game more thrilling to watch.
Traveling with his wife to the Upper Peninsula became a treasured pastime, as they explored the beauty of Michigan together. These trips were filled with adventure, laughter, and the creation of unforgettable memories.
Steven's home was where he found peace, not only for his family but also for their beloved pets. Special consideration goes to Shannon and all the family pets, Queenie, Bear, Princess, Choo Choo, and Tank, who were an integral part of the bustling household.
As we bid farewell to Steven James Mogg, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed with grace. His memory will be treasured, his stories retold, and his love felt, always and forever.
