Steven O'Keefe (76) of Southampton and proud Vietnam Veteran of the Marines passed away Sunday December 17, 2023. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Eleanor nee Hewlett and John O'Keefe. He is preceded in death by his wife Donna Lee O'Keefe. Steven is survived by his loving children, Connie Mallon, Donald O'Keefe, Michelle Krier (Ron) and Kelly O'Keefe Schwartz (Derek). His grandchildren Joseph (Jess) and Michael Krieger, Steven and William Mallon, Donald Kozar, Rhett (Erika) and Dillion Krier, Matthew, Hunter, and Robert Schwartz; great grandchildren Andrew Ferraro, Nicholas, Gabriella, Nora, and Michael Krieger, Emma and Lily. Steve is also survived by his brother Patrick O'Keefe (Mary) and sister Marleen Micenec.
In the 76 years that Steve lived he was so many things to so many people. He was a son, brother, a hero, a husband, a dad, a pop pop, an uncle, a friend, a Steamfitter (Local 420), and overall Mr. Fix It.
In 1967, Steve joined the Marines and proudly served his country from 1967-1972. Steve demonstrated true valor and honor and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/1*, the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Good Conduct Medal. Each of these represents Steve's dedication and commitment to his country.
Steve truly had a heart of gold, always had a heart of gold, always looking out for others, nothing gave Steve greater joy than the happiness of others. Steve was truly a selfless man; you could say that he was a father figure for many. Steve was a strong believer in his faith and always put his family and others first. Steve could be summed up in three words God, family, and country. Steve leaves behind a legacy and a lifetime of memories that will forever be in our hearts.
Steve's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 10AM to 11AM, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave. Southampton, PA 18966. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Steven at 11AM. Steven will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, PA.

On the anniversary of your passing, I find myself reflecting on the beautiful moments we shared and the lasting impact you had on my life. Though you´re no longer with us physically, your memory remains a constant source of love, inspiration, and strength. You are deeply missed, and the world is not quite the same without you. But in my heart, you live on, and your spirit continues to guide and comfort me every day. Rest in peace, dear Pops and know that you are always remembered with love.

I have so many things to be thankful for in this lifetime. First and foremost is that I was fortunate to be raised in a home with loving parents. I thank God that he gave you as many years as he did. Dad you were compassionate, loving, caring, attentive, and supportive. Dad, I will miss you, immensely. You were always someone I could count on, and although you were a straight shooter, you always got your point across without judgement. You always gave it 110% and never stopped fighting for what's right. Because of you, I have the heart of a lion, the love for family, and insane work ethic. I thank you dad for all the calls, wise words of advice, the love you gave me and the beautiful life I lived because of you, your hard work, and your boundless love for me. I am a better person Dad, because of you. I will forever keep you in my heart. There are not enough words to express your influence in my life. It is through your example that I learned to be the mother that I am today. You were hardworking, strong, loving, and gentle. You loved your family and were deeply devoted to my mother and three siblings. I love and miss you, until we meet again, your baby girl.

When you first met me you gave me a handshake as a man. Later came a special bond the fist bump, with a hey my man. Now as the time is coming to an end I go to fist bump you and there is no return fist bump. I realize that our journey and special bond in the life is over. Dad thanks for being a man in my life that I could look up to. You will have a lot of people waiting for you at heavens gate but I will say this. My mother and father will be waiting with open arms to meet you, and thank you for how you and your family has treated me as a man, part of the family. I love you dad sleep well. Never good bye until will we meet again. Love Sleep.
