Steven Otwell

Steven D. Otwell, 67, of Durand, IL died Sunday October 13, 2024 in Alden Debes Acute Care Center after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Steve was born February 20, 1957 in Rockford, IL the son of Milton Otwell and Wanda (Moore) Otwell. Steve graduated from Winnebago High School Class of 1975. Steve retired from Mid-City Office Supply in 2020. In retirement he worked part time at Lowe's in Machesney Park, IL. In his younger years, Steve enjoyed bowling and softball/baseball. Steve had great mechanical skills and enjoyed restoring older cars with his father and his son Nick. Steve enjoyed being outside golfing, biking, and fishing on Lake Wisconsin. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears and Alabama Football fan.
Steve had a big heart and would always help family and friends in their need. He loved his family, friends and his dog Seymour.
Survivors include: daughter Megan Condon; son Nick Otwell; granddaughter Madison Otwell; grandson Everett Otwell; father Milton (Eva) Otwell; sisters Karen Pierce and Leann (John) Hittner; brother Dave (Janet) Otwell; numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his mother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Durand American Legion, 211 N State St, Durand, IL 61024. Cremation Rites to be Accorded.
