Sue Layne Messamore, 62 of Science Hill, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset after a brief illness.
She was born on May 24, 1962 in Somerset, daughter of the late Earl Messamore and Betty J. Carter Messamore Godby. Sue was a graduate of Somerset High School and furthered her career to become a Bookkeeper in the accounting department at Oakwood Training Center in Somerset for a number of years prior to her retirement. Sue was of the Baptist Faith and member of the King Bee Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, diamond art and being outside. Being a caring, loving and kind-hearted person, won her the affection of her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents; Earl and Betty Messamore Godby, she is preceded in death by a step-father; Don Godby and two nephews; Matthew and Stephan.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a devoted son; Michael Messamore of Somerset, three brother; Max (Belinda) Messamore, Barry Messamore all of Somerset and Marty (Dianna) Messamore of Monticello, Kentucky, three grandchildren; Michael Price, Kaley Messamore and Alayna Messamore, two great-grandchildren; Ruben and Avery, a special cousin, who was like a sister; Cindy Branscum, other special cousins; Tiffany and Mackenzie, nieces; Miranda and Alexa, nephews; Jake and Kellen, several other nieces and nephews as well as a special friend and life partner; Joe Cundiff and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Foundation. You may also offer condolences and sign the Online Tribute Book at www.somersetundertaking.com
