Sue Ann Plenert, 93, of Buhler, Kansas passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler. She was born on April 23, 1932 in Buhler to John S. and Elizabeth (Esau) Schroeder. She graduated from Buhler High School with the class of 1950. Sue was an Avon Representative for over 65 years. She also centered her life around nursing, working as a CNA, CMA, in Medical Records and Activities for Sunshine Meadows. She was united in marriage to Vernon A. Plenert on August 21, 1953 in Buhler. They shared almost 56 years of marriage together before Vernon's passing on July 14, 2009. Sue was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church. She is survived by her three daughters, Bev (Rich) Heim of Hesston, Sharon (Randy) Janzen of Visalia, CA, and Laurie (Mark) Isaac of Dinuba, CA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, John Schroeder of Buhler; sister, Adina Kliewer of Buhler; and many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and six sisters. Private family burial will take place at Buhler East Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 22 at Buhler Mortuary, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community or Buhler MB Church in care of Buhler Mortuary, PO Box 589, Buhler, KS 67522.
