Sue Carolyn Yates, 87, beloved mother, grandmother, and GiGi, formerly of Granbury, passed to her eternal heavenly home Monday morning, October 7, 2024, in San Saba, Texas.
Sue was born on September 7, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Kenneth Wood and Mary Jo Schkade. Stepfather Roland Schkade. Sue married Ronnie Wendell Yates November 10, 1971. They owned and operated Yates Body Shop in San Angelo, Texas. She will be remembered for her lively personality and many years as a competition Chili Cook.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Cherri Jenkins, Son in law David Jenkins, Terri Nash and Jerri Nash; her grandchildren, Sonya Nash, Robert Nash, Christina Nash, Rhonda and Robert Chaffin, Tracy and Josh Park, and Melissa and Caleb Crocker; great-grandchildren, Ryan Chaffin, Kendyl Park, Ashlynn Park, Hannah Crocker, James Crocker, and Josie Drost; and by her stepson, Wayne Yates.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie, son Larry Nash and great granddaughter Rachael Chaffin.
A private family memorial will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
