A beloved spouse, father, brother, and friend, Sun Chan, 87, of Providence, passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on April 2, 2024. He is survived by his beloved spouse Yun Hing Chan Ho and his cherished children: a son, Man Ting Chan of Hong Kong, and four daughters, Chan Li Juan of Toi Shuan, Chan Li Xian of Toi Shuan, Fung Man Chan, of North Providence and Fung Ying Chan of Middletown. He also leaves two brothers, Kam Wing Chan, of Cranston, and Wing Siu Chan of Florida. He was predeceased by one brother, Simon Chan.
Sun was a wise, generous, and kind family man, especially a loving & caring husband and father. A self-taught and self-made man, he worked as a Banquet Halls Manager for many years. He acquired beautiful calligraphic handwriting skills that countless people praised tremendously. He loved cooking for his beloved grandchildren and enjoyed going to the casinos with his best friend and loving wife. On his 'lucky days', he delighted in sharing his gains over meals with family and friends. He was a man of few words and kept close to his few dear friends. He loved good food, good company, and good times with his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed life, but most especially his family.
Services for Mr. Chan, to which family and friends are respectfully invited, will be held in the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Providence, on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 from 9:00 -11:00a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Johnston.
