Full Name: Susan R. Bernstein
Date of Death: Friday, August 22, 2025
Susan R. Bernstein, of Commack, New York, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at the age of 78.
Susan was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Bernstein, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. She was a deeply caring mother to Jeremy Bernstein and his wife Doreen, and to Emily Bernstein-Greenbaum and her husband Craig. Her children were her heart-and her grandchildren, her greatest joy. She beamed with pride for Jessica and Samantha Bernstein, and Matthew and Jake Greenbaum, whose lives she filled with warmth, support, and endless love.
Family was everything to Susan. She was not only a devoted mother and grandmother, but also a cherished sister to Rita Bernstein and Howard Wein, and a treasured Tanta and great-aunt to many. Her extended family knew her as a source of constant kindness, wisdom, and gentle humor. Whether offering a listening ear, a heartfelt story, or a lovingly prepared meal, Susan had a way of making everyone feel seen and special.
An avid reader with a passion for good storytelling-whether through books or her favorite television shows-Susan found joy in life's quieter moments. Yet, her happiest times were always those spent surrounded by her family. She never missed a birthday, a school play, or a moment to simply be present. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down, the values she instilled, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Susan's warmth, strength, and grace touched every life she encountered. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her, especially those lucky enough to call her mom, grandma, sister, Tanta, or friend.
Her love lives on in the stories we tell, the memories we carry, and the lives she shaped with her boundless heart.
