Ms. Susan Teresa Crowder, age 63, of Covington passed away April 17, 2024 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. She was born in Lithonia to Horace and Susan England McCullers on March 17, 1961. Susan grew up in Lithonia and was a graduate of Lithonia High School.
She spent 28 years as a Customer Service Representative at the Covington City. Her fellow employees described her in a glowing Facebook post as having a "sassy wit and a big beautiful smile" who started everyday by saying she was "ready to go". Susan was an avid reader; she enjoyed going on cruises, listening to classic rock and roll, and could always be found sitting near the front at every Live at Legion Concert.
Susan was a kind and wonderful person who loved people and her family very much. Her warm infectious smile will be missed by everyone she assisted at the City of Covington and those she loved which could be said was everyone. She was a woman of faith and a member of Discovery Point Church in Conyers. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Horace McCullers.
She is survived by her mother Susan McCullers; her children Adam (Amy) Crowder of Jackson, Amber Crowder of McDonough; her grandchildren Makenzie Crowder, Serenity Crowder, Taylor Wagers, Ryleigh Wagers and Kacie Wagers; sister Shelly Hammonds (Zack); her nieces Mikayla Weilbaker and Miranda Hammonds; her aunt and traveling partner Penny Bowker and her son Peyton; along with a host of other loving family members and numerous friends.
A Memorial Service for Susan will be held at 6 o'clock Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
