Susan Brown Foreman, of King, North Carolina, born on February 9, 1949, in Vance County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Susan lived a life rich in compassion and dedication, particularly in her career as a social worker with the Department of Social Services in Richmond and Stokes County. Through her work, Susan touched the lives of many, always striving to uplift the vulnerable members of her community. Her commitment to helping others was a hallmark of her character, reflecting the warmth and genuine care she extended to everyone she met.

Outside her professional commitments, Susan was a woman of many interests and talents. She found joy in attending concerts, playing guitar, and expressing herself through her artwork. The beach held a special place in her heart, where she relished tranquil moments surrounded by the serenity of nature.

Above all, Susan cherished her family. She took immense pride in spending time with her loved ones, creating joyful memories that will be treasured for generations to come. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Shelley; her son, James S. Foreman, III (Emily); her grandchildren, Kyra Shelley, Annaliese Shelley, and Gracynn Shelley; and her great-grandchild, Cash McDonald. Susan is also survived by her brothers, John Brown and Jeff Brown.

She was preceded in death by her father, John E. Brown, her mother, Audrey Jewel Martin Brown Ewing, husband James S. Foreman, II and her grandson, Robert McDonald.

A memorial service to honor Susan's life will be held on June 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham, North Carolina. Friends and family are invited to join together in remembrance of a remarkable woman who brought light into the lives of those around her. A time of visitation will follow the service.
