Susan Ann Giotta
Susan Ann Giotta, of Pittsford, passed away on Sunday, September 29th after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.
Susan was born on Prince Edward Island on March 1st, 1962. Her
parents adopted her as an infant, She was one of five sisters: Elizabeth (Levy), Justine (Kohlsaat), Andrea (King), and Sara (Linaris).
She earned a degree from Albany Business College, and went to work for the State of New York, then Enable, a computer software company. She then worked for MapInfo, a mapping software company. She was very proud that she received a phone call from the Mideast late one night from a soldier needing help with her company's product. With her help, his problem was solved.
Susan met her life partner, Bud Provin, on a blind date while she and her son Christopher were living in Latham, New York. When Bud moved to Maryland, she went with him. They lived there for twelve years. Toward the end of their stay in Maryland, Susan, burned out by the computer industry, began working in the floral world, a life-long interest. When Bud's father died, they moved to Vermont to reopen his father's motorcyle shop in Pittsford.
Susan was an accomplished chef, studying and practicing cooking. She collected cookbooks, amassing over 100 of them, and read every one of them! She loved riding with Bud on his motorcycle, traveling all over the country, always acting as his navigator. They rode together until her health began to fail.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Bernhardt and Sally Hausheer and her beloved Aunt Janet Rafferty. She is survived by her partner Bud, her son Christopher, his wife Christina, their children Matthew and Emily, her four sisters, their children, and numerous cousins and friends.
Viewing hours are at Barnard's Funeral Home in Pittsford, from 6:00-8:00pm Sunday the 6th. The funeral will be held at the Congregational Church in Pittsford on Monday the 7th, at 11:00 am.
