Susan C. Lamp
Susan (Sue) Carol Lamp, 72, of Parkersburg passed away on February 1, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
An active member of the Parkersburg community, Sue touched a multitude of people over the course of her life. She always had a smile and a kind word for anyone she met.
Sue was born on October 2, 1952. She graduated from Parkersburg High School and West Virginia University with a degree in Social Work.
She was employed by Westbrook Health Services until her retirement. She volunteered as a reader for several elementary schools for over twenty years and was an active supporter of the local library.
Sue also enjoyed volunteering and playing at the Actor's Guild of Parkersburg. She was last seen in "The Music Man", and had been looking forward to possibly directing in the future. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing with the choir and playing handbells.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Corbitt; mother-in-law, Betty Corbitt; brother-in-law, Edward Corbitt (Kate); sister-in-law, Rebecca Beckett (Earle) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Randall (Randy) Corbitt; parents, Chester and Ethel Lamp; father-in-law, Billie Corbitt and grandparents, Adam and Ada Strimer.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the First Lutheran Church. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St, Parkersburg and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to the Actors Guild of Parkersburg.
