Susan Janet Petrizzo

Susan Janet Petrizzo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 24, 2024, at the age of 73.
She is predeceased by her husband Dennis Petrizzo, her parents John and Janet Jens and her brother John Jens Jr.
Susan is survived by her beloved son Daniel Petrizzo and his wife Kristina. Dear sister of Janet Jervis (Bill), Barbara Mormino (Frank), Patricia Gajdusek (Thomas), Kelly Jacob, and sister-in-law Diane Jens. Devoted grandmother to her grandson Nico and granddaughter Angelina and her mother Victoria Rincon. Loving aunt to her many nephews and her nieces who she referred to as "my girls". She will especially be missed by all her grandnieces and grandnephews.
Susan was a lifelong resident of Bergen County. She grew up in River Edge with her 5 siblings and worked at Mazzone's Pizza as a teenager. Upon graduating from River Dell High School, she worked at People's Trust Company as a manager in the Computing Department. She later met Dennis, and it was in Hackensack they raised Danny and where she worked as a podiatrist assistant for 30 years. She later moved to Hillsdale, 28 years ago, where she was welcomed by her sister and brother-in-law.
She will be best remembered for her love of horror movies, gardening, the responsibility of mashed potatoes on Christmas Day, "Susannnnn, is the coffee ready?", Wednesday swimming get togethers in the summer, Wildwood, Steven King, and her love of the Beatles, specifically Paul McCartney.
Her most impactful contribution to our family was her gift of crocheting. It was through crocheting she expressed her creativity and love. Her strength, spirit and memory will forever be wrapped around us with the beautiful blankets she made for each and everyone one.
Family and friends will be welcomed at Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, on Tuesday, October 29th from 4-8PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 30th at 10AM with the religious service starting at 10:30AM.
