Susan Jones Tidwell

Services for Susan Jones Tidwell will be held on Friday December 12th at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont. Visitation is from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00 PM. Reverend Kenneth Boles will be officiating. Graveside service will be at Goshen Cemetery.

Susan passed away on December 9th, 2025 at UAB Medical Center. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Blane Tidwell; two sons, Cody Tidwell (Ashley) and Dakota Tidwell (Brandy); three grandchildren, Anna Kiker, Maddie Tidwell, and Logan Tidwell; two Brothers, Dennis Jones (Debra) and David Jones (Debra); Sister in Law, Diane Jones, several nieces and nephews, best friends Teresa Ingram and Teresa Holbrooks, and her Jacksonville Police Department family.

Susan was born on April 21st, 1963 to Ray and Eva Jones of Piedmont. She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked at Springs Industries for over 20 years. She spent the last 16 years with the Jacksonville Police Department working as a Police Dispatcher and Criminal Analyst. She was a member of Chosea Springs Baptist Church. She loved riding horses, cruising around in her Jeep, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Ray and Eva Jones; Father and Mother In Law, Thomas and Joann Tidwell; Brothers, Darrell Jones and Douglas Jones; Sister, Brenda Kay Jones; and Nephew, Joshua Jones.

Pallbearers will be members of the Jacksonville Police Department and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Piedmont Rescue Squad.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Piedmont Rescue Squad.
