Susan K. "Twig" Westerheide, age 74 of Celina, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Divine Nursing and Rehabilitation at Shane Hill in Rockford. She was the daughter of Paul and Betty (Fetters) Brown, born on June 15, 1949 in Celina. On June 14, 1975, she exchanged vows with Richard "Amby" Westerheide, embarking on a lifelong journey together.
Susan is survived by her son, Brian Westerheide, who resides in Van Wert. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly (George) Tester of Celina, as well as her brothers-in-law Dan (Kathy) Westerheide of Minster, Ed (Diana) Westerheide of Ft. Laramie, Jeff Westerheide (Vince Otero) of Oakland Park, FL, Ralph (Sue) Westerheide of Minster and Jay (Kris) Westerheide of St. Marys. Susan found joy and companionship in her family, creating lasting bonds of love and support.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Betty (Fetters) Brown, and her beloved husband, Richard Westerheide. Though they are no longer with us, their memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Susan graduated from Celina High School with the class of 1967, marking the beginning of a lifetime of learning and personal growth. She was a devoted member of the Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, where she found strength and solace in her faith. She was a member of the Celina Moose Lodge, the Celina Eagles, the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713, the Curbside Queens, and the "B" Club of Celina. Professionally, she dedicated her talents and hard work to the Celina Moose Lodge, the Gardens at Celina and retired from Ben Franklin in Coldwater. Susan loved to dance and she was an Ohio State University fan.
Funeral services to celebrate Susan's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Deb Ketcham officiating. My deepest sympathy to Twig's family especially Brian and Bev. What wonderful fun memories I have from back in the 70s when we were part of Mort's gang at The Other Place. Twig was always so full of life and so much fun! She definitely "did it her way" and for that I always admired her. I know that Amby and Brian, were the love, pride and joy of her life. I will always remember Twig with a smile in her heart.

With deepest sympathy,
Jane Kaylor
