Susan Willfahrt

Susan (Ledden) Willfahrt, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22nd, 2022, in Neenah, Wisconsin after spending the Easter holiday with her family.
Susan was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on November 7th, 1939, to her loving parents, Oscar and Christine Ledden. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1957 and enjoyed a 23 year long career at Mid-State Technical College. She married James Karl on July 11, 1959 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale and later divorced. She was married to Fredolin "Fritz" Willfahrt on September 5, 1988, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
In addition to her career in higher education administration, Susan provided in-home care for the elderly for 27 years, including a deaf person for 18 years. Susan was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish in Nekoosa, as well as, St. Raphael in Oshkosh. She loved spending time pursuing her passion for music and her creative hobbies.
She is survived by her siblings, Betty Thom, Karleen (Fritz) Hendrickson, Sheila Weis, Clarice Karl, Eugene (Diane) Ledden, Lenore Miller, Angie (Dave) Ledbetter, and Pat (Mary) Ledden; her brother in law, Cliff Reigel, her two children, Jeff (Dawn) Karl and Janel (Craig) Reich; her step-children, Susan (Douglas) Snortheim, Tim (Denise) Willfahrt, Ron (Tammie) Willfahrt, Sally (Joshua) Raab, and Amy (Paul) Johnston; her grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew) Schmitz, Aaron (Emilie) Steinmann, Ashley (Adam) Spindler, Brittney (Collin) Skoug, Colton (Lian) Karl, and Emily (Frank) Karl, Katee (Jerod) Bastianello, and Brett (Hannah) Reich; many great grandchildren, and a close community of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Christine Ledden; her siblings, Tim Ledden and Johnette Reigel; her brothers in law, Vern Thom, Kenny Weis, Wenzel Karl, Roger Miller; her husband Fritz Willfahrt; her former husband James Karl; her children, Gregory and Aimee
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Fr. John Swing officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Auburndale, WI at 2:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Susan's name at Sacred Heart Parish in Nekoosa, Wisconsin.
